The following screen appears each time you start the Integrated Investor software:

ii_startpageui_words.gif

Click on the components of the startup screen to go to help topics specific to that item, or click on the links below.

The Start Page is displayed in the work area of a standard Integrated Investor Work Page Screen. It has the standard Title Bar, Menu Bar, Tool Bar and Page Monitor.

Pre-computed Scans

On the left margin of the Start Page are located the Pre-computed Scan selection areas. It consists of three parts:

Market Selection Area

Scan Results are retrieved on a national market-basis. Select a country from the drop-down list and scan results from all its markets will be retrieved.

Note - The exact Markets to be retrieved for each country can be specified in the Advanced Data Provider settings. By default all markets for each country are specified.

The Date of the results can also be set. By default the current date's results are retrieved. All previous results are available from the server. To retrieve the results for a previous date, un-check the Use Current Data checkbox and enter or select a date

To display only results of stocks that have options associated with them, select the Optionable Only filter.

Pre-computed Scan Type Selection Area

Select a scan type to view its results in the display pane below.

Available Groupings and Types

The Elliott Wave group of four Wave type scans (Wave 4 Buy/Sell and Wave 5 Buy/Sell) is always available in Integrated Investor.

When the Safety in the Market (SITM) module is installed, the ABC group of pre-computed scan types will appear.

The four scans types based on ABC Pressure Point principles.

These two groups of scan types also appear on the Trade Setup tab of the Pre-computed Scans work page.

For more information of the scans and their criteria, go to the Trade Setups scan types help topic.

Scan Results Selection Area

Once the scope of the results is set and a scan type is selected, results for that date and type will appear in the list at the lower left corner of the Start Page.

Select a result and many of the other display panels on the Start Page will be populated with data for that symbol.

Display panels which are linked to the selected result include the Price Chart display at the center top, the Technical and Fundamental dashboard instruments at the top right, the Broker Recommendation (center-right) and the News Headlines at the lower right of the work page.

These items are all described in the following section of this help topic.

Scan Result Price Chart Display

Click on a Pre-computed Scan Result to display its price chart.

ii_startpagechrtcursor.gif

The Daily Line chart will display 12 months of data using the Close data field.

Roll the cursor over the chart and it becomes a pointing finger that will display the price for the day selected.

Open Detailed Price Chart

While the cursor is over the chart, single left mouse click the chart to open a new Integrated Investor Price Chart window.

The chart for the symbol will be displayed, together with the Elliott Wave or ABC Points that triggered the original pre-computed scan result.

The chart will use default chart type: Line, Bar, Candle Stick, Time Swing, etc.

The chart has full charting functionality and can be customized to suit each user or analysis. Individual price charts can then be saved as *.hcp chart files.

For more information, go to the Chart Page Overview topic.

Enter Chart Symbol

Users can also enter a symbol that does not appear in a Pre-computed Scan Results List and have its chart display on the Integrated Investor Start Page.

Enter the symbol in the symbol details text box:

Each time the chart is loaded, this data will be refreshed.

Technical Analysis Dashboard

The three speedometer type dials represent statistical indications of the average values for a number of different technical data sets.

The software use complex mathematical computations to transform the various ratio values into a percentage value representing the mean of the set of indicator values.

Each dial displays from 1 to 100. The needle indicates the level and the exact value is displayed immediately below the dial:

ii_strtpg_dashbrdtech.gif

Oscillator

The Oscillator indicator uses a number of technical indicators primarily from the Oscillator group of indicators, e.g. Commodity Channel Index, Percentile Rate of Change, Relative Strength Index (RSI), Williams %R, etc., to determine whether the current price is, from a technical perspective, Over-Bought or Over-Sold.

An Over-Bought position (reading above 50) tends to indicate that a downward reversal can be expected.

An Over-Sold position (reading below 50) tends to indicate that an upward reversal can be expected.

Trend

The Trend indicator utilizes a range of Momentum and Oscillator type technical indicators, e.g. Momentum, Oscillator, Chaikin Money Flow, Directional Movement Index (DMI), etc., to determine whether the current trend is, from a technical perspective, Bullish or Bearish.

A Bullish reading ( above 50) tends to indicate that an upward trend will continue.

A Bearish reading (below 50) tends to indicate that a downward trend will continue.

The strength of either trend is determined by the needle's distance from Neutral: N on the dial or 50.00%.

Volume

The Volume indicator is a percentile indication of the current day's volume compared to the range of volume over the preceding 12 months.

A Low reading indicates that the volume for the current day is relatively less than the average daily volume for the security over the past year.

A High reading indicates a higher than average volume for the day.

Fundamental Analysis Dashboard

The three speedometer type dials represent the average results for the three Fundamental Experts Analysis groupings of the ValueGain feature set.

ii_strtpg_dashbrdfund.gif

This set of gauges also appears on the ValueGain Start Page.

The composition and calculation for each of the Analysts Groupings are discussed and explained in the Experts Analysis Page help topic.

Broker Consensus Recommendation

The Brokers Recommendation is the investment bank broker consensus opinion for the stock supplied by a third party financial data provider:

ii_strtpg_brokerecs.gif

The reported range is displayed as Sell, Underperform, Hold, Buy, Strong Buy on the graphic display, the consensus opinion is indicated by the blue arrow.

Note - It is not directly related to the results generated by Integrated Investor's pre-computed scans, but rather provides an independent benchmark to which those results can be broadly compared.

News Headlines

News relevant to the symbol currently displayed in the Scan Result Price Chart will be displayed in the News Headlines panel.

Selecting a new Scan Result will also retrieve News Headlines for it.

Likewise, if a user enters a symbol that is not a Scan Result into the symbol text box, that symbol's Price Chart and related News Headlines will be retrieved and displayed.

If there are no current news relating to the symbol, the following text will appear in the panel.

<No data to display>

When related News articles are found, they will be displayed in the News Headlines panel:

ii_strtpg_news.gif

Click on a headline and it will open in the News work page.

Select a tab to display its Index Chart:

ii_strtpg_marktchrtabs.gif

Data for the previous 12 months is plotted as a Daily Line chart. The Close data field is used.

Move the cursor over the chart, it will change to a pointing finger and the price data for each day will be displayed.

As with the price chart, above, left mouse click on the to open the Index in a fully customizable Price Chart work page.

All Price Chart functionality is available, and the changes can be saved as *.hcp chart files.

For more information, go to the Chart Page Overview topic.
