Rename Software Database

Last updated:

Overview

Renaming Your SOFTWARE's database may be a rare operation required if a drastic database corruption occurs. Renaming an existing database will allow you install a fresh version of your database while retaining the same database name.

Likewise, you may wish to rename your database location name to something that is easier to read or remember.

Note: Before proceeding, make sure you know the location of Your SOFTWARE's database. To find this location, read the section Find Default Database Location. Once the location of your database is known, make sure you close Your SOFTWARE before proceeding.
