Your Software is set to download 3 years worth of price data for any chart the first time that chart is viewed.
The price data will subsequently be updated on a Data-on-Demand basis.
If more than 3 years worth of data is required then this may be obtained via either a Custom Data on Demand or instituting a Local Database which contains all available data for any supported exchange.
This may be achieved through running the Hubb Client Data Manager to download and configure a Local Historical Database.
Your SOFTWARE retrieves both price data, fundamental and news data on a Data-on-Demand (DoD) basis.
For each of these data types, Your SOFTWARE supports two types of DoD data services: Standard and Custom.
Each of these processes function slightly differently, each is separately explained below.
The green DoD Refresh buttonis used to initiate a data refresh for the current price chart, quote page or portfolio.
For more information, go to the Price Data-on-Demand topic.
When a DoD refresh is initiated, the progress of the response from the Data Provider's server will be displayed in the Remote Action Window.
For more information, refer to the DoD Go button and Remote Action Window topics.
The standard price DoD service detects what data is required to update the price data from the last data record in the local database until the most recent data on the Data Provider's server. The refresh function retrieves the outstanding data and adds it to the local database. This is an efficient and fast method of updating local data, it can refresh a large number of symbols very quickly.
You may specify the amount of data you wish to be retrieved for any given chart by way of the Custom Data on Demand function.
This function will retrieve data for the specified time-period from our servers and deliver it to your local database.
To access the custom data on demand function you may simply right click in a blank space on any chart and
Select the Data On Demand option
Now left click on the Custom option
Specify the amount of data to be retrieved
Upon clicking 'OK' the data will be retrieved from our servers and updated on your chart.
If you wish for this amount of data to be retrieved automatically upon a chart loading you may click on the 'Set as Default' option.
Note: The amount of time it takes to load and open a chart is directly proportionate to the amount of data being retrieved for that chart. Increasing the default amount of data to load will also increase the time it takes to load a chart.
Streaming, or Real-time data is also available from third party Data-Providers. The supported Third Party Data Provider is OptionsXpress.
Users wishing to run Market Scans in their software will require a local Historical Database installed on their computer.
A Historical database contains all available data for supported markets and is instituted via the Historical data copy wizard.
In order to ensure your market scans are running against the most up-to-date data it is necessary to regularly download Data packs from the Hubb servers via the Update Manager tool.
Users wishing to run Market Scans containing Fundamental criterion in their software will require a local Fundamental Database installed on their computer.
In order to institute a Local Fundamental database you will need to contact Technical Support and request a Fundamental Data CD.
Once the CD arrives it may be installed via the Historical Data Copy Wizard.
This database is then maintained automatically via the Update manager
