Restore Software Files

Overview

This shows you how to Restore all the user files associated within Your SOFTWARE.

The user files included in the backup are Quotes, Charts, Scans, Portfolios, Alerts, Wall Chart Settings, Log Files, Download Files, Application Settings, Chart Defaults and Option Defaults.

Restoring Software User Files

In order to proceed with the restore you must ensure that all windows within the software are closed.

To do this you may click on the file menu

Select the Close all option

Now begin the restore process via the Tools menu

Then the Backup / Restore Wizard

Note : If you encounter a software dialog box, read the reminder and then click the YES button to continue.

This will launch the BACKUP/RESTORE WIZARD DIALOG BOX.

Select Process

To restore a previous backup, click 1. Restore a Previous Backup then click the Next button.

Select Backup File to Use

Enter the location of the backup file under the Location input box. You can use the Select button to manually select the backup location and then click the Load button.

Click a backup name from the list of backup names and then click the Next button.

Select File Types to be Restored

You will be asked which file types you wish to restore.

Check the features you wish to restore and then click the Next button.

Note : Be default, all the checkboxes will be selected.

You will then be prompted to overwrite your existing files:

Click on the Yes button to restore the Backup, or No if you wish to cancel and not restore the backup file you have selected.

Restore System with Backup File

The restore procedure will start and a progress indicator will display:

When the Restore is complete, the Finish button will become enabled.

Click on the Finish button to complete the process and exit the Backup/Restore Wizard.
