TaaRecordStream/Error occurred loading Symbols database

Symptoms

Upon starting Your SOFTWARE or when attempting an update manager you receive error message of:

TaaRecordStream.rsOpenExisiting: Not a valid record File/Stream (size error)

You may also receive an error message of:

Error occurred loading Symbols Database

Cause

This error message indicates that the index of the database has become corrupted.

The most likely cause for this error is that the software was improperly shut down whilst it was accessing the database.

Resolution

 

It is necessary to remove and reinstall your Historical Database to resolve this error.

Locating the Database

Navigate to the File Menu

Select the settings option

Select the Databases Tab

Note the location of the Database from within this window.
By Default the database will be C:\HubbIntData**, where ** indicates the prefix of your installed software.

For example for Profitsource this would be PS and for Integrated Investor this would be II.

Navigating to the Database

Once we have noted the location of the database please close Your SOFTWARE

Once the software has been closed we may navigate to the previously noted database location

Navigate to the Start menu

Select the Computer option

Open the Drive where the Database is located

Open the Hubb Database folder and delete the Snapshot, Daily & Symbols folders from within.

Reinstalling the Database

To reinstall your database you may utilise the Hubb Client Data Manager to download and configure your Hubb Database.
