Action Menu

The Chart Page's Action menu has nine twelve commands.

Open the drop-down menu by clicking the Action drop-down arrow in the Chart Page's Function Bar.

Click on each of the commands to jump to more information about it:

Save Chart Page

Saving a Chart page will make it permanently accessible, and also save any indicators, overlaid charts, annotations, etc that you have placed on the chart.

The Save Chart Page dialog will be displayed. It will prompt you to name the new chart page.

Save Chart Page As...

Save Chart Page As... allows users to quickly create and save charts of different symbols that share the same layout, colors, etc as well as any indicators, overlaid charts, annotations, etc that you have placed on the original chart.

The Save Chart Page dialog will be displayed. It will prompt you to name the new chart page.

Save As Template...

In order to produce a new chart with similar appearance, format, indicators, etc. to the current chart, but having a different base symbol, save the current chart page as a template and then create a new chart page using the template and the new base symbol.

Load Template...

To apply the formatting and indicators saved in your templates to the current chart page, select one of the templates from the Load Template... list.

Reset Chart Scales

By default the chart page will be displayed using a set number of interval spaces horizontally, and will vertically display the highest high and lowest low for that time period. The number of spaces which can be displayed horizontally will depend on your screen size and resolution settings. The number of spaces per trading interval is set in the Bar Spacing control on the General Settings tab of the Chart Properties Dialog. The initial default setting is one bar space per trading interval. This setting can be altered by the user, and set as a new default.

Click Reset Chart Scales to return the screen display to the default appearance.

Similar Reset Chart Scales buttons are also located in the Chart Page Properties Pop-up Menu and the status bar chart display controls in the lower right hand corner of the chart page.

Actions for Base Symbol

This submenu contains commands to display data and tools related directly to the base symbol:

Price Data

Click to display price data for the base symbol in a table format.

Fundamental Data

Single left mouse click to open the current stock in the Experts Analysis tabbed page of the Single Stock Analysis work page containing various Fundamental Analysis tabbed pages for the chart's symbol.

Information

Click to open the Detailed Symbol Information dialog box. It contains three tabbed pages giving details of the security (for instance name, exchange, etc.), dividend information and daily data details.

Options Analysis

Click Options Analysis to open the options analysis work page for the base symbol. From this work page users can select options derived from the symbol and construct option strategies and analyze the potential profit for those strategies.

If the base symbol is not traded as an option, the Options Analysis page will open and display an error message saying that there are currently no options listed for the base symbol.

Option Chain

Click Options Chain to open the options chain table for the base symbol. Options Chains are the group of all options that are derived from the underlying security represented by the currently selected symbol.

If the base symbol is not traded as an option, the Options Chain work page will open and display an error message saying that there are currently no options listed for the base symbol.

Trade Scanner

Click Trade Scanner to open the Trade Scan selection dialog.

Select a predefined Trade Scan from the list, click Select to apply the trade scan to the current base symbol.

The trade scanner page will open, displaying the base symbol ready for a trade search to be initiated. For more information, go to the Trade Scanner help topic.

Volatility Chart

Click Volatility Chart to display the current base symbol's volatility chart.

Volatility Skew

Click Volatility Skew to open a chart that analyzes the volatility skew pattern for all the option derived from the underlying base symbol.

If the base symbol is not traded as an option, the Options Analysis page will open and display an error message saying that there are currently no options listed for the base symbol.

Print

Click Print to open the standard print dialog box.

The individual printer and their properties display will depend on the local printer installation.

Print Preview

Print preview allows you to confirm that the view selected for printing is satisfactory.
