Horizontal Line

Horizontal lines always run parallel to the horizontal axis. They are used to mark levels of support and resistance, usually defined by a level to which a stock price has fallen or risen more than once.

Position and Edit

Select the Horizontal Line icon, move your mouse over the chart, and click where you want to place the line.

The line is always extended to infinity. You can select and move the line using the handles functionality along the vertical axis only.

The line can be locked at its current level.

Properties and Format

Double-click the line to adjust its properties, including its vertical position ($value), color and line style using common tool functionality.

The price level of the line is displayed just above the line on the right margin, it's location above the line can be changed using the Location of Labels Properties function to any of the following, or set not to display at all.

The font for this value display can be set for the individual line, or check Use Chart Font to adopt the chart's font. These can be altered in the Font tab of the Properties sheet:

Pop-up Menu
