Add New Alert

You can only add alerts to the current list of alerts from the Current Alerts tabbed page.

The Add button will be disabled when the Activated Alerts tabbed page is displayed.

From the Current Alerts tabbed page, click Add.

The Add Alert dialog box will open:

Symbol

Each alert is linked to a single symbol.

Either type in the symbol for which you want to set this alert, or use the Search button to track it down through the symbol search function.

You can use the same alert criteria for different symbols by changing the symbol using the edit function.

Alert Type

There are 5 Alert Types available: Chart, Fundamental, Fundamental Experts, Hi-Lites, and Indicators.

Each Alert Type in the drop down list has a number of Alert Items associated with it.

Select an Alert Type in the drop down list, and its corresponding Alert Items will be displayed in the lower text box.

Go to the Help topic for each Alert Type for details on that Type's Alert Items.

Chart

Add criteria based on the movement in a security’s price and other data used to render charts.

For instance, a gap up by a certain amount, a new high or a new low, or a price that has reached a particular level.

There are five Alert Items associated with the Chart alert type, for more information on the Alert Items, and their associated dialog boxes, go to the Chart Alert Type help topic.

Fundamental

For each fundamental data type you can set parameters and create equations to create unique alert trigger expressions which are applied to the symbol each time you run the alert.

Hi-Lites

Apply parameters used to generate Hi-Lites to your alert scan.

Your SOFTWARE may have Elliott Wave Alert Items are associated with the Hi-Lites alert type, for more information on Elliott Wave Alert Items dialog box, go to the Hi-Lites Alert Type help topic.

If the Safety in the Market module is installed, Your SOFTWARE will also have ABC Points Alert Items are associated with the Hi-Lites alert type, for more information on ABC Points Alert Items dialog box, go to the ABC Hi-Lites Alert Type help topic.

Indicators

Apply parameters and equations used to generate technical Indicators to your alert scan.

There are a large number of Alert Items are associated with the Indicators alert type, for more information on the variety of Alert Items, and examples of some of their associated dialog boxes, go to the Indicators Alert Type help topic.

Status of the Alert

The Alert Status is changed between Active and InActive by selecting the Active check box in an alert's Edit Alert dialog box.

The Alert Status indicates whether the particular alert will be compared to current data when the Check for New Alerts command is applied.

If the status is InActive, the current data for the symbol will not be retrieved.

Save New Alert

Click OK to save the new alert.

It will appear in the Current Alerts list.
